UAE: Expunge Activists’ Convictions

This photograph uses the "Rule of Thirds". It can be observed when we mentally "break-up" the image into thirds.  In this photo we can see that in the intersections of these rectangles are objects that clarify the meaning of the picture; for example, the U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates) flag in the left corner, the open door at the opposite, his folder in the right side (with what it seems to be his belongings), and finally we can observe his arm around his wife; this in sign of relief. Also it balances the photograph by moving the darker object or negative space (wife's dress) towards the center; this for the reason that in the left there is many light.
With these resources the photographer can easily capture what happened in that instant. It shows the moment when Ahmed Mansoor is released from Al Wathba prison on November 28, 2011 after being charged of "threatening state security and insulting the Emirate's leaders". (Shah, A.
