Romeo Langlois, a french journalist that was liberated in Colombia

He is Romeo Langlois, he is a journalist  that was kidnapped  the 28 of April, in Colombia by a guerrilla group called Las FARC, Langlois has covered over 10 years of problems between Colombian forces and guerrilla groups. When he was covering an important event, a soldier from the guerrilla group shot him, and the group took him prisoner. Finally the guerrilla released him by a pact that they do with the French government to release him. He was rescued by the Red Cross and also because he is an important journalist. He said that in this time that he has been there, he had not been mistreated.
In that time he says that he was treated as a soldier for about one month.

In my personal opinion that journalist has to be more careful because he knows that something probably could happened. On the other hand it was a very bad experience because he was a prisioner and he was treated as a soldier. The solution was good because the govermnet work with the Red Cross to solve this problem, and also they give a good image to the society. I think the guerrillera groups should disappeared because they give a bad image in front of the young people, and also because they only create disturbs.

To conclude i think that is bad to take prisioners and  then exploit them, and also i think that the warrior group was reasonable because they let him go. That was a very good action by part of the Red Cross and of the governmet so,  it was a very nice news because it talks about that the problems could be solved only by talking.

  1. Felipe,

You need to read your articles in English. This is an intensive English based reading and writing course. So, in the future, please reference news articles, etc that are written in English.
