Blog 3 - Compare and Contrast - Baltic Countries

Link Photo 1

In this essay I will compare and contrast two different images that correspond to Lithuania’s news about building a new nuclear power plant. In this project, countries like Estonia and Latvia want to participate. This project will help those countries because they will have energy cheaper, the only problem is the initial stake, which is very high. Estonia has to give over 1 billion euros.

First of all, I’m going to talk about the first photo.  In this photo we can see the nuclear reactors as magnificent things. They are presented with plenty of light over them, the background is the sky and it can be inferred that the sunrise is coming because of the light orange color that can be sighted in the lower part of the photo. This photo has no natural landscape such as rivers or lakes.

Second, I’m going to talk about the second photo. In this photo we can see more nuclear reactors working. They are presented during the day, with two reactors working and the other two reactors in stand-by. The background of the image is a great landscape, which includes a river and many fields around the nuclear power plant. We can infer of this photo that this nuclear power plant gives a lot of employment to local people due to all the cars that are in the parking lot of the power plant.

To conclude, I think that the construction of the nuclear power plant will benefit all countries surrounding Lithuania. Also I think that the best image to represent this is the first one because the nuclear reactors seem to be “perfect” and the sunrise in the background tells: “It will be a new beginning for Lithuania”, speaking about new resources in Lithuania.
