Militia is attacking Ivory Coast from
Liberia.
[Power can be defined as the ability or official capacity to exercise control]. Sometimes power can be good and
sometimes this can be bad, because like some people say, “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. I
think that this phrase describes exactly what happens to a lot of people,
sometimes when they get some power they want more and more, many times they
want power so much that this corrupts them causing someone to change completely.
Recently something has affected Ivory Coast
very seriously; this is the government failure to stop the infiltration of
mercenaries and militia from Liberia to this country. This causes a very severe
crisis in both countries because this type of forces affects the civilians and
the country in general. After some research the Ivory Coast government
discovered that this attacks are receiving funds by Ghana. Ivory coast
government also say that they are doing their best to stop this kind of action,
unfortunately this has not happened yet.
In this article we can see that power
is highly involved, because this is a proof that sometimes the power of rebel
groups is greater than the one of the government, this article also makes clear
that the will of gaining more power sometimes is bigger than the respect of
human life because as I said before “ power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. I think that
what the government should do is to do his greater effort to stop this kind of
attacks, and to show the rebels who has more power. I also think that if this
does not stop can lead to a war so the best that the government could do is to
try to clear the things out with Ghana, if not this can lead into a war.
