Iran
and NATO have a problem of understanding; the NATO and United Nations Security Council are worried because
of the increasement in the use of nuclear power in Iran. Iran says that is just
for a civilian nuclear program and energy but as Jennifer Rankin states
“… inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency have found
traces of enriched uranium at higher levels than previously
at the Fordou nuclear site in Iran.” This problem has being increasing and the tension is getting
higher so the Russian government is trying to help acting as a mediator between
this two nations.
In these article we can see how many power
factors are involved in this problem, the first and the most important one is
how Russia a country not originally involved in the problem is trying to solve
it and help, these particular action shows how important is Russia and the
international power that it was, that’s why it is consider a world power. The second
element of power that I noticed was the geography or the territory, we all know
that USA and Russia fight for world control and that Russia has in certain way the
control of Asia and the Middle East, so because of the relative neighborhood
that it has with Iran and with Europe it immediately gets involved into the
problem. The third element is the military forces, if Russia was not a strong
and powerful country no one will be listening to him or letting act as a
mediator, both Iran and NATO know that Russia will and has to be hear because of
the important country that it is, because if this problem gets bigger and sadly
starts and armed conflict is a really important factor in which side will be
Russia because of the armed forces and technology that it has.
So we can see that Russia has a big power that
gives him a voice and a vote in international issues. Also that factors such as
GDP, territory, geography, military forces, etc are indicators of how much
power does a nation has and by analyzing them you can identify rater if is a
powerful , moderate or weak nation.

news article that I used.
