Blog 6: How we see Southeast Asia

  

From a general point of view the South-East Asia is seen as one of life great! When speaking of Thailand, Laos ... everyone thinks directly to white sand beaches with crystal clear water and blue. This part of Asia reminds directly to a magical place where you'll dream of going to rest and have a good time. In addition these countries in South-Eastern Asia provides many photographs for most people. After the fact that all people who live in this region eat rice every day and at all meals, with chopsticks in small porcelain bowl.

 Then it also reminds all major rice there through these countries, large green area on the mountain slopes like steps of stairs. And many people with big hats that are working in the water to harvest the rice. These countries are also thinking of the many massage parlors that can be found with pretty Asian mass throughout the body. Then, this region is reminiscent of the country where you can very well live with money and can also taste typical dishes very spicy or very specific such as grasshoppers. Finally, these countries also think of the Buddhist religion, with very large and beautiful temple. But also a lot of and impressive status to the effigy of that religion.

Then for most of these countries there are also negative stereotypes such as prostitution. Especially in a country like Thailand, many people think that in most streets there are many prostitutes who are the majority of teenagers. In addition we can be led to think that these countries have many mafia that controls prostitution and drugs such as opium or any other kind of drug.

To conclude, this region has many stereotypes that are mostly positive and that make you want to visit these countries.
