Compare and Contrast "Super Tax"

This essay will deal with the differences and similarities of two photos. Both photos refer to the new mining tax that Julia Gillard set up. It is difficult to choose a photo to treat of a new law. However, I find that both are pretty explicit photo. In a third paragraph, I will talk about the rule of thirds compositional strategies in photography. The rule of thirds is extremely essential if you want to make a photo more attractive.

The main similarity between the two pictures is Julia Gillard. Moreover, she has the same expression on her face, she seems determined. Both pictures show all the courage of Prime Minister to set up the new tax. On both photographs, it is easy to see that she is the chief.

There a lot of differences between this two pictures. The main difference is that on the first photo, Julia Gillard is single and on the second photo she is with miners. On the first photograph, she holds his hand like a gun. There is a contrast with the miners who laugh next to her. Even if, Julia Gillard looks like serious on both photos, the first looks like more peaceful. It is just because all the miners laugh. On the second picture, she is alonevery serious and concentrated. The other difference is that I think it is easier to understand which subject deals the second photo thanks to the sign.

The rule of thirds was respected on this two photos. You can see that the Prime Minister is not at the center of these photographs. On the first picture, she is slightly shifted to the right with all the miners around her. The second photo was taken from below. In the foreground is the sign, and behind Julia Gillard
